about
This is a project that grew out of a shared love of taking photographs, a wish to document the pandemic and the changes in our lives, and a desire to connect with others.
As we went into lockdown in New Zealand, I was three weeks into teaching a course on visual anthropology. As I reworked the course to find ways the students could engage in their respective lockdowns, I also wanted to document this moment in global history. Inspired by the photography collective 24photography, this is the result.
We started with one, and now there are 51 of us, in eight countries, ranging from eight years old to 72. Some of us are professional, most of us are amateurs. We’re doing this for fun, and to stay connected. These are our pandemic lives.
